Based on the the legendary Ford GT40 from the 60's, the GT
utilizes a supercharged 5.4L modular engine rated at 550 horsepower
with 500 ft/lbs of torque for a top speed of 205 miles per
hour. When JBA got its hands on one of these beasts, the attention
to detail that went into its production stood out prominently.
It's low profile stance, mid-mounted engine, and massive hood
scoops all came together to stick out in our garage of classic
Shelbys, Corvettes and late-model powerhouses like a jeweled
crown atop a pile of gold. Being the enthusiasts that we are,
we unlatched the rear engine hood and took a closer look at
the engine assembly and its exhaust system. What we found
was slightly disappointing. Attached to the engine, were restrictive
cast-iron factory manifolds attached to large catalytic converters
that went into a humongous boxy muffler. After examining the
system, JBA made a goal to make available a free flowing exhaust
system with a bolder race sound, with true headers for true
enthusiasts.

The
JBA 2005-2006 Ford GT 5.4L Exhaust system is unlike anything
JBA has built before. Since the Ford GT is a mid-engine supercar,
the exhaust configuration utilizes less tubing and different
unique bends to transfer exhaust from the heads to tips. The
original factory exhaust system when removed from the car,
along with the attached factory manifolds leaves a lot to
be desired. The big and bulky factory muffler system looks
more like it was built to accomodate space rather than performance
or sound, in fact, a complete JBA Ford GT exhaust system will
save the GT over 70 lbs.!
